Anonymous asked: Ermmm...I don't really know anything about this blog, but I've recently zoomed through all the Murasakiira no Qualia scanlations, and I went looking desperately for anything more. I found your translation of the novel, but I see that you haven't posted a new chapter since November...I realise a response to this anonymous question is highly unlikely, but I've been wondering whether you plan to continue your project or not. Will you resume your translation? (Please please please please please...!)
Oh, wow. I haven’t gotten around to continuing the translation for ages. I’m really sorry about that. ^^;
I hope things get less busy for a while - maybe I can catch up a bit this weekend.
Anonymous asked: Do you know where I can find the English translation of the Fate/Zero antholody drama featuring Kariya, Zouken, Aoi, and Sakura? It appears that you don't have it listed witih the other drama translations
Which drama CD is this? I can’t seem to find any information on it. ^^;

Idea: Super Marii Sisters, a game where you jump around collecting robot components and assemble them correctly to win.

Anonymous asked: Thank you so much the Purple Qualia translation xD . With such quality prose and subtle style, I'm very tempted to try some of your other projects, just because you translated them, even if I wasn't interested in any one LN from them before. Good luck, good Sir!
O-Oh wow, and I was so sure I butchered the translations, too! ^^; Thank you. Really.
(I’ve been busy for a while, but hope I can make the updates a little more regular now.)
…Well, I certainly can’t object to more people reading PSYCHE! ;3 I’ve been telling people that it’s my favourite book for, well, ever since I started translating it.
[PQ] Etc. About Marii 6
This level of bickering is honestly pretty cute. At least, it looks cute from here. For the people involved, it’s a little too painful for that.
6. Marii and Her Arch-Nemesis
Anonymous asked: That Carnival project on tlwiki is dead for like 6 years or so and not goint to be continued.
Ah, I see. In that case, I’ll add it to my "considering" list.
After Qualia is done, I’ll pick something off that list to translate - so, Anons, now is your chance to sway my decision!
Anonymous asked: Any plans on other renya's work "Carnival"? There is a chinese translation too, but I'm not sure if you are okay with the contents of that novel.
…It sounds interesting. I can’t seem to find the text on its own, though, and it would be more difficult to work from the visual novel.
Besides, some people are already working on it. I’m not sure if they want another translator on board, especially one who translates from Chinese. ^^; (I’m not proud of my translation quality at present, either. Apologies to everyone who has no choice but to experience PSYCHE through my clumsy words.)
In the meantime, I think I’ll tackle the things that nobody else is translating. It should be more efficient this way, right?
[PQ] Etc. About Marii 5
Isn’t it cute how they keep trying to convince each other to like various qualities that they’re insecure about?

[PQ] Etc. About Marii 4
You can tell she isn’t chuunibyou by how she doesn’t think her eye colour is connected to her unusual perception.

Anonymous asked: Thank you for your translation of PSYCHE! It's a really great work, impressed by writing skills of setoguchi renya. Are you going to translate his other works? 暗い部屋 looks nice. If you are interested I guess you should make a post about looking for hackers to extract text, I think somebody will help. At least I will try.
^^; I have a copy of the Chinese text already. (It became infamous after it was banned from publishing, heh.) Haven’t read it yet, though - it’s a visual novel, isn’t it? I’d like to take care of the translation (after finishing Qualia, which should take a few months), and if someone else could help make a patch, that would be great.
Just to make this thing a bit more searchable, I’ll go ahead and say that I’d like to do an English translation of Setoguchi Ren’ya/Karabe Yousuke’s visual novel Kurai Heya. As far as I can tell, it works perfectly well as pure writing - although a visual novel edition can certainly enhance atmosphere a lot. (I know from making Yandere in 100 Words just how much of a difference it can make!) But I won’t ask for assistance until I actually start the translation, and maybe not until it’s at least half-done.
Karabe’s writing is beautiful enough to survive two translations, hmm? <3 I hope some Chinese translators pick up his other works, too - I’ll consider working on Inutsuki-san after the second volume has been translated.
